Symptom

When an execution node was deployed for migration using OMS, a message was displayed, indicating that the SSH connection authentication failed or the SSH connection was rejected.

Possible Causes

SSH connection authentication failed.

• Possible cause 1: An incorrect username or password is used for logging in to the execution node using SSH.
• Possible cause 2: The PermitRootLogin item in the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file of the Linux node is set no.

The SSH connection was rejected.

If the number of SSH connection authentication failures reaches the upper limit allowed by the Linux node.

Solutions for failed SSH connection authentication

• Method 1: Enter the correct user name and password used for the SSH login.
• Method 2:
  1. Change the value of PermitRootLogin in the /etc/ssh/sshd_config file to yes.
  2. Run the systemctl restart sshd command to try the SSH connection again.

Solution for rejected SSH connections

After confirming the cause of the SSH connection authentication failure and rectifying the fault, run the systemctl restart sshd command on the node. The RDA server can reconnect to the Linux node, and the deployment process can run properly.
